Danny Welbeck: Police aware of racist tweet about Arsenal striker
Greater Manchester Police say they are aware of a racially abusive tweet about Arsenal striker Danny Welbeck.
The post came following Welbeck's winner for the Gunners against his former club Manchester United in an FA Cup quarter-final on Monday.
Police were informed of the abusive message when members of the public contacted them.
It follows an incident last month, in which Chelsea fans stopped a black man boarding a Paris metro train.
The Blues suspended five fans for an incident which occurred before Chelsea's Champions League game against Paris St-Germain.
Police are investigating reports of racist and abusive behaviour from Chelsea fans on a train from London to Manchester following their Capital One Cup win over Tottenham on Sunday, 1 March.
CHAMPIONS LEAGUE LAST 16 SECOND LEG
- Venue: Stamford Bridge
- Date: Wednesday, 11 March
- Kick-off: 19:45 GMT
Coverage: Live on BBC Radio 5 live with live text commentary on BBC Sport website
Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho says Paris St-Germain are the most aggressive side his team have faced this season.
Nemanja Matic returns from a ban but fellow midfielder John Mikel Obi is out with a knee injury for the Champions League last 16 second leg on Wednesday.
The first leg in Paris was drawn 1-1.
"This season we have played teams from the Championship, League One and League Two, but the most aggressive team was PSG. For a team with so much quality I expected more football," Mourinho said.
"I thought a team from England would never be surprised by aggression, because aggression is in our country.
"A team with fantastic players was the team making foul after the foul. [PSG] were the team that stopped Eden Hazard with fouls all the time, the team that was attacking the man in possession of the ball with two or three players very aggressively.
"If to dominate is the number of chances created, yes Paris had more chances than us. If dominating means stopping your opponent from playing, making foul after foul, yes they also dominated."
Chelsea beat PSG in last season's quarter-finals after they overturned a 3-1 deficit to win the home leg 2-0 and advance on away goals.
But on that occasion the French side were without injured Swedish striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic. This time, PSG boss Laurent Blanc thinks Gary Cahill and Kurt Zouma could struggle to contain him.
"I don't think those two players are going to be happy about facing Zlatan," Blanc said.
"He's someone who loves the big occasion. He's a player who can score at any time, in any venue, against any opponent. I hope he shows that on Wednesday night."
Prior to Mourinho's warning about PSG's aggression, Blanc has also warned his side not to confront Chelsea striker Diego Costa, whom he says "thrives" on provocation.
"He likes contact, and provokes opposition players. That's part of his game," Blanc said.
"He really needs that to bring out the best in his performances. The most important thing is to not get caught up in the way he plays.
"He will try to provoke a reaction. We need to stay calm, not get caught up in his game. We need to be as effective as possible in stopping him."
PSG players will wear black armbands for the game after eight French nationals, including three sportsmen and women, died in a helicopter crash in Argentina on Monday.
Matija Nastasic leaves Man City to join Schalke in permanent deal
Manchester City defender Matija Nastasic has joined German Bundesliga side Schalke on a four-year deal.
The 21-year-old Serbia international moved to City from Fiorentina in 2012 but was loaned to Schalke in January for the remainder of the season.
Schalke activated a release clause to make the deal permanent and Nastasic said: "I am proud and happy to remain."
He played in Tuesday's Champions League 4-3 victory at Real Madrid that saw the Germans edged out 5-4 on aggregate.
